Drug & alcohol support
Who we help
We can normally help if you are aged 18+ and live in one of the areas we provide community services: currently, these are based in East Kent, Hull, Liverpool, Essex and Wiltshire. Our residential rehabs, The Bridges, which is for men aged 18+, and Clouds House, which is for anyone aged 18+, help those who want to become totally substance-free and make positive changes in their lives.
We also support people in a number of prisons across England that want help to address issues with drugs or alcohol. Please note that we cannot accept referrals for our prison services from loved ones. If you have a family member in prison that needs support for their substance misuse, they will need to put in an application to the drug and alcohol service in that prison, or ask their Personal Officer to do so on their behalf.
What to expect
We provide friendly, non-judgemental support, no matter what substance you use or what you have gone through in the past. Many of our staff have personal experience of drug and alcohol issues themselves, so we understand what you’re going through.
We also know that no one person is the same. That’s why we offer a range of different treatment options, from programmes that can support people to become completely abstinent to harm minimisation and advice on cutting down.
Our support doesn’t stop once you have finished your programme or workshop. Our Recovery Support service can help you work towards future goals; our Forward Connect community will connect you with a network of supportive, like-minded people; and we also help people to find employment and housing.

The staff at Forward were brilliant and so helpful. I found this was because many of Forward’s staff have gone through the recovery process themselves, so they know what it is like.
