Work for The Forward Trust
The Forward Trust is a leading social enterprise that empowers people to break the cycle of crime or addiction to move forward with their lives.
Forward is always looking for skilled and talented individuals to join its services teams and head office.
In addition to competitive salaries (including London weighting for all positions located within the M25), Forward employees are entitled to the following range of competitive employee benefits:
We strongly believe that staff who work directly with clients require work-related clinical supervision in order to practise safely and to the best of their ability. Staff are eligible for up to £90 per month for this supervision.
When an employee reaches three months’ service we enrol them automatically into our pension scheme, which is run by Aviva. The funding rate is an initial minimum of 3% and a maximum of a 6% employer’s contribution assuming that the member matches this amount. After completing two years’ continuous service, Forward will increase its contribution to 1.5 times that of the employee, up to a maximum of 9%.
Forward have in place a group life cover scheme for all Forward staff. This scheme, also known as death-in-service (DIS), provides a lump sum payment to the member’s family/dependants if they die prematurely whilst employed by Forward equivalent to twice their annual salary.
Employees who are contracted to Forward terms and conditions are entitled to benefit from a scheme run by Simplyhealth, designed to assist with the general health and well-being of employees. Employees can benefit from contributions to the cost of dental, optical, health screening, physiotherapy, diagnostic consultation and some alternative treatments, as well as personal accident cover, a confidential helpline and counselling sessions.
Employees who are contracted to Forward terms and conditions may be entitled to benefit from this scheme, which enables working parents to save money on the costs of childcare. It is a form of salary sacrifice as the employee’s salary would be reduced by a given amount and instead they would receive vouchers, which are given direct to the nursery/registered childminder. By doing this, employees can save on income tax and National Insurance contributions.
Continuing professional development
It is Forward policy to support and encourage its staff to engage in learning and development that supports the development of skills and abilities that will help in their employment with Forward, and in their professional career.
Employees who are contracted to Forward terms and conditions may be entitled to benefit from this scheme offering interest free loans. Forward provides a number of loans for employees in the interest of carrying out their work to include:
- Season ticket & travel card loans
- Bicycle loans
Employment at Forward is subject to two satisfactory employment references (one of which should be from your most recent employer) and confirmation of your eligibility to work in UK. If your role involves client contact, we would require your agreement to work to the counselling code of ethics. If applicable to your role, we would also require proof of your professional qualifications.
If you are in recovery from your own addiction, you would need to declare this upon acceptance of an offer of employment and you should be at least three years’ clean (five years for management positions). Relapse could lead to the termination of your contract, subject to proper investigation in accordance with Forward’s procedures.
As stated above, if your position does involve contact with vulnerable individuals, your employment would be subject to prison security clearance and/or an enhanced DBS disclosure. If you do have previous convictions, a period of five years must have elapsed since your last conviction or completion of your prison sentence and your record of previous convictions must not contain:
