Way Forward – Islington
Who is it for?
This service is for individuals who are:
- Are aged 18 or over.
- Live in Islington.
- Have experienced drug and/or alcohol issues.
How we help
We offer peer-led activities for people who have experienced drug and/or alcohol issues.
Our aim is to give service users tools and strategies to sustain their personal goals. We can help build on strengths and gains made in their journey so far.
Some of the key benefits of Way Forward include:
- Growing your sober social circle.
- Monthly family days – including picnics and baking competitions.
- Monthly well-being newsletter.
- Financial resilience sessions.
- Improving your wellbeing.
Online Support
Our free online activities run six days a week and provide access to Forward Connect, a community of like-minded people. We can also provide individuals with free smartphones and digital training where needed.
Examples of our online activities include:
- Literacy and numeracy workshops.
- Mutual Aid meetings.
- Healthy eating and exercise.
- Art group and creative writing.
- Breakfast Club.
- Relapse prevention.
- LGBTQ+ group.
In-person support
Weekend activities take place from 10am – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday at our hub in Islington. Come along all day, or drop in as and when you want.
Examples of our in-person activities include:
- Cultural cooking club.
- Breakfast Club.
- Art and creative space.
- Mutual Aid meetings.
- Gardening.
- Literacy and numeracy workshops.
