David has worked in the civil service, as a lawyer and on the boards of a small food importing company and a private investment company. Now retired, he sits on the boards of three other voluntary organisations, and of two grant-giving foundations. He is interested not only in penal affairs, but also alcohol and drug addiction more widely, human rights and refugee issues.
