Joyce Adu

Joyce is highly committed to improving access to social housing and improving quality, professionalism and service delivery in housing services. Prior to her career in social housing, she worked in the private sector as a data analyst and market research expert. Her career in social housing began in 1992. She gained front line and leadership experience in both local authority and housing association settings, occupying various positions from housing officer to regional manager. She then specialised in housing dispute resolution and arbitration and joined the Housing Ombudsman Service in 2001. As Director of Dispute Resolution, Joyce was a member of the Senior Leadership Team and responsible for the Ombudsman’s dispute resolution service, regulatory compliance, customer service and corporate business functions.

Joyce recently transitioned to health service regulation and joined the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in 2022 as Head of Investigations.
