The Bridges, Hull

Service delivered in the community
Residential rehab in Hull for people and who have issues with drugs and/or alcohol.

Who we help

We can help you if you are:

  • Aged 18+
  • Have had issues with drugs and/or alcohol
  • Looking to become totally substance-free and make positive changes in your life
Additional information and requirements
  • People with dual-diagnoses (both mental health and substance misuse issues) may need an additional assessment in order to ensure we can meet their needs
  • We can accept clients with GP prescribed medications, however there are exceptions which will be discussed thoroughly with you. In some cases, you will need to speak with your GP regarding alternative medications.
  • We are rarely able to accept applications from people convicted of arson or sex offences, but always consider each case carefully
  • If there is a risk that someone might pose a high risk of harm to others or themselves, we may not be able to accept their application. However, we will always jointly assess such cases before making a decision
  • Our building has limited wheelchair access, so we are unable to accommodate clients with significant mobility issues
  • All offers of treatment are subject to written confirmation of funding. However, if you’re not able to secure funding from your local authority we may be able to support you through our bursary scheme
  • For ex-offenders on licence, all offers of treatment are subject to approval by probation
  • Clients must have either already gone through detox and/or be able to submit a negative drug/alcohol test before they arrive at The Bridges, Hull

How we help

The Bridges, Hull provides a two-stage treatment model, each 12 weeks long;

Stage One treatment is specifically geared towards addressing substance use and associated behaviour. This stage of treatment will support the clients to identify and address addictive thinking and behaviour and replace them with recovery-focused attitudes and behaviours. In this stage, clients are not permitted to leave the centre by themselves and will be accompanied by a staff member/volunteer at all times.

Stage Two treatment builds on the work done in Stage One and is focused on empowering the client to re-engage with the community through volunteering and education and developing supportive relationships to give them the tools to continue their recovery when they have completed treatment. Clients in this stage are permitted to leave the centre unaccompanied, they continue to engage in daily treatment groups and are subject to a curfew.

More information on how we help can be found on The Bridges website.
