At the end of the rainbow

A poem by Ben, HMP Swaleside

Right now, we are facing times like never before,
the whole country is being forced behind their door
Every day this horrible illness takes more lives,
but we will get through it and we will survive
Life on lockdown is proving not easy; but needs must as this illness is oh so greedy

We must remember, it’s not just us going through it,
instead it has turned into
a global pandemic

Every Thursday at 8 o’clock, we clap for the NHS
who are working so hard to prevent so many deaths,
So this virus will not beat us, oh no, oh no, oh no
because together we can all see
the end of the rainbow
