One donation, double the impact!

The Forward Trust (formerly RAPt) are delighted to be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge; the UK’s largest online match funding campaign.

The campaign offers Forward supporters the exciting opportunity to make twice the difference, at no additional cost, when they donate between Tuesday 27th November 12:00pm and Tuesday 4th December 12:00pm. For example, an online donation of £100 is doubled to £200 and if Gift Aid is claimed, it could be worth £225.

The Bridges: Breaking the cycle

Your generous donation will go towards breaking the cycle of addiction and crime by providing ex-offenders who turn to The Bridges with the intensive support and aftercare they desperately need to recover from substance misuse and develop the skills, confidence and aspirations to build a positive, sustainable, crime-free future and move forward with their lives.

The Bridges is Forward’s Hull-based residential rehabilitation centre – the only one in the country especially designed for ex-offenders struggling with substance misuse issues. It provides up to 24 weeks of intensive support to ex-offenders to overcome their addiction, restore their family relationships and build a positive life. The treatment programme consists of a combination of workshops, group therapy and counselling sessions and signposting to other local services where necessary.

Our impact

Since opening in 2004, The Bridges has supported over 450 ex-offenders towards recovery from substance misuse and 95% of our completers have moved onto independent accommodation. Since 2014 more than 70% of our clients have completed their treatment process and a follow up study in 2013 showed that 76% of those completing the programme had not reoffended in 12 months post-rehab. Our collaborative approach empowers ex-offenders to make transformational change towards lifelong recovery.

I now live free from drugs, alcohol and crime in a beautiful flat, with a full-time job and a girlfriend. I feel so positive about my future and I know that I will continue to move Forward with my life.

I came to The Bridges and I’m glad I did. It changed my life and my perception of life. The guys that work in this treatment centre are unbelievable. I am not the same person I was when I was using drugs.
