Take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge and double your donation to Forward's Family Services.
Christmas can be a wonderful time of year. But sadly, for the friends and family of people in prison – especially their children – it’s a different story.
An estimated 200,000 children are affected by imprisonment. What’s more, offending can often become a vicious cycle: research shows that 63% of prisoners’ sons went on to offend themselves.
Forward’s Family Services help change things for the better. From arranging visits and family Christmas days to delivering specialist courses to help prisoners understand the effect of their behaviour on their loved ones, our support to rebuild relationships has a real impact. The statistics speak for themselves: prisoners who receive a family visit while in custody are 39% less likely to re-offend.
This Christmas, we have secured a place in the Big Give Christmas challenge, where every pound you donate between 12pm on Tuesday 3 December and 12 pm on Tuesday 10 December will be generously matched by The Monday Charitable Trust and the J Leon Charitable Foundation. This means that your donation through the Big Give will be doubled!
All donations will go towards our Family Workers to support more people reconnect with their loved ones and break the cycles of addiction and crime.
