HMP Swaleside

Swaleside is a Category C prison within the Sheppey Cluster located on Isle of Sheppey, Kent.

Forward delivers substance misuse programmes at the prison including:

Clinical services - Medically assisted interventions provided by a nurse/doctor such as prescribing and detoxification, whose aim is to improve physical and psychological functioning, improve quality of life and support recovery.

Case management – Talking interventions provided by a keyworker/counsellor, such as relapse prevention and motivational enhancement. Can be delivered in either a group or one-to-one environment.

Stepping Stones – Medium intensity, part-time rolling programme, run over four weeks and consisting of 20 sessions. Designed to meet the needs of offenders who misuse drugs and/or alcohol who are serving short sentences or are on remand.

The Rapt Substance Dependence Treatment Programme (SDTP) - An intensive, full-time, abstinence-based behaviour programme, aimed at medium-high risk offenders with a history of drug dependence.
