The government’s £2 billion Kickstart scheme is a fantastic opportunity to bring new talent into your business
The scheme provides six-month work placements for young people aged 16-24 on Universal Credit at risk of long-term unemployment.
Funding available through the scheme covers 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated National Insurance contributions, for each placement.
Forward can help you realise this opportunity at your organisation – regardless of your resources or capacity.
How we can help
We offer three types of support to suit your circumstances and priorities. Get in touch today to find out more or explore other ways to work with us:
We’ll handle all aspects of your application to the scheme and your Kickstarters’ training and support needs. This includes weekly employability training, advice and guidance, job coaching and online support to help make your Kickstarter placements a success.
You'll also be able to join our Partners and Employers Network, where you can access events, seminars and roundtable discussions aimed at finding solutions to shared challenges facing employers.
Our complete support package is ideal for organisations looking to offer less than 30 placements and lack the time or capacity to organise training and support.
We’ll create a tailored support programme for your Kickstarters, focusing on developing the skills, experience and confidence needed to thrive in your organisation – and leaving them ready for the next step in their careers. This includes weekly training and guidance for the duration of their six-month placements.
Learning support is for employers that are able to take on at least 30 Kickstarters or have used another gateway organisation, but don’t have the capacity to do the upskilling and training required.
If you want to take on Kickstarters but are unable to offer 30 or more placements, we’ll process your application for you through our employer network. We’ll transfer the £1,500 incentive and salary to you once received at week one and months two, four and six.
Application support is for you if you want to join the scheme but have fewer opportunities to offer.
